Soccer Game Preview: R-S Central vs. Brevard

The R-S Central Hilltoppers will head out to take on the Brevard Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for R-S Central's offense. They came up short against Polk County on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Hilltoppers haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Brevard brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let Chase get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Thursday. The Blue Devils have beaten the Trojans the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.

Brevard's offense was hitting Chase from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Dana Walls led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

R-S Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Brevard, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.

R-S Central suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Brevard in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point R-S Central was down 6-2.
