Football Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short Despite Joseph Meyer's Big Defensive Game + How To Watch

Roosevelt lost against Washingtonville back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Presidents took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wizards.

Roosevelt didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Joseph Meyer picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. Meyer is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Brennan Tesseyman went supernova For Washingtonville., rushing for 219 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Tesseyman also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes. Another player making a difference was Joel Luongo, who rushed for 106 yards and one touchdown.

Roosevelt now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Washingtonville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Roosevelt wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 25-12 loss against Marlboro Central on the 26th. As for Washingtonville, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-18 defeat against Minisink Valley on the 26th.
