Softball Recap: Ferris Yellowjackets vs. Life Waxahachie Mustangs
While Ferris put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Life Waxahachie. The Ferris Yellowjackets blew past the Life Waxahachie Mustangs 18-0. Considering the Yellowjackets have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Landri Davis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Ferris let Aubrie Henson and Valorie Carrillo run wild. Henson went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while Carrillo scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave Henson a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Turner, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Ferris always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher in five consecutive contests.

As for Life Waxahachie, they will head out on the road to face off against Hillsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Life Waxahachie has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
