Basketball Recap: Southwest Extends Winning Streak to Three

Southwest had won two straight games and Paris Alaquinez did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Southwest Dragons came out on top against the Lutheran Mustangs by a score of 58-51 thanks in part to Alaquinez, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in November.

Southwest has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-16 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Lutheran, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Southwest will face off against Southwest Legacy at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Southwest Legacy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Lutheran, they will head out to face off against Central Texas Christian at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
