Softball Game Preview: Centennial Eagles vs. St. Helens Lions

The Centennial Eagles will take on the St. Helens Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Centennial has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Centennial is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Tuesday. They lost 14-2 to Molalla. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when St. Helens faced off against Glide on Tuesday. The Lions walked away with a 9-4 win over the Wildcats. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Veronica Frigaard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Dakota Drake was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Halli Heys was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

St. Helens now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Centennial, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
