Preview: North Platte Panthers vs. Crest Ridge/Chilhowee
The North Platte Panthers are on the road again on Friday and play against Crest Ridge/Chilhowee. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only North Platte walked away with it. They blew past Wellington-Napoleon 59-14 on the road. With North Platte ahead 44-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
North Platte relied on the efforts of Dylan Armstrong, who gained 34 total yards and three touchdowns, and Jason Shanks, who rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Another reason for the win was North Platte's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Owen Stockbauer and Armstrong who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Crest Ridge/Chilhowee beat Midway 21-12 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Crest Ridge/Chilhowee.
North Platte's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Crest Ridge/Chilhowee, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
