Flag Football Recap: Canyon Beats Crean Lutheran for Their Eighth Straight Win

Canyon waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 12-6 W against the Crean Lutheran Saints. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Comanches' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while the Saints are ranked 137th).

Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Caroline Hicks.

Canyon's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Crean Lutheran, they dropped their record down to 9-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Canyon is set to take on their familiar foe Cypress at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Crean Lutheran will face off against rival Esperanza at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Saints 11.7, the Aztecs 11.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
