Basketball Game Preview: Circleville Tigers vs. Gallia Academy Blue Devils

The Circleville Tigers will be taking part in a tournament against the Gallia Academy Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Circleville's favor as the squad sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Gallia Academy has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

On Monday, Circleville beat Amanda-Clearcreek 59-48. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Aces are ranked 314th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Gallia Academy beat Vinton County 50-46 on Monday.

Gallia Academy's win came from a few key players that Circleville will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ryen Nunn, who posted 13 points and three steals. Gallia Academy is undefeated when Nunn posts three or more steals, but 9-10 otherwise. Mallory Petro was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Gallia Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Circleville, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.

Circleville strolled past Gallia Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2025 by a score of 38-20. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
