Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Gibbons Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cardinal Gibbons was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cypress Bay Lightning. The Chiefs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lightning earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Despite the loss, Cardinal Gibbons still got an impressive performance from Avery Paton, who had 16 digs and three aces. Paton has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Cardinal Gibbons' defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Cypress Bay, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Cardinal Gibbons wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Basilica on the 1st. As for Cypress Bay, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against St. Thomas Aquinas on the 30th.
