Baseball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

Franklin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the Greensville County Eagles. The Broncos were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Greensville County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Coming up, Franklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Brunswick at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.8 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Greensville County, they will head out to square off against Windsor at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dukes' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
