Basketball Recap: Stella Maris Academy Falls to Chisholm in First Game of Season

Stella Maris Academy had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 70-34 loss at the hands of the Chisholm Bluestreaks.

Chisholm's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shea Showalter, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 17 points. Daurius Helmer was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Chisholm and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Stella Maris Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Woods at 7:15 p.m. on the 15th. As for Chisholm, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-35 defeat against Greenway on the 9th.
