Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Snags 11th Win in Last 14 Games

Chaparral posted their closest win since September 22nd on Friday. They skirted past the Erie Tigers 3-2.

Leading Chaparral to victory were Jenna Baller and Brooke Wildhagen. Baller had 27 digs and two aces, while Wildhagen had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Wildhagen has posted since back in September. Sahara Hernandez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Chaparral was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Erie only served four.

When it comes to explaining why Erie lost, don't look at Olivia Harris. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs. Harris has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times she's played.

Chaparral has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Erie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.

Chaparral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Rampart on the 1st. As for Erie, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Thompson Valley on the 1st.
