Softball Game Preview: Chaska Hawks vs. Chanhassen Storm

The Chaska Hawks will head out to challenge the Chanhassen Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Things were looking good for Chaska after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of New Prague by a score of 6-4. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ellie Scott made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Chanhassen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-5 to Benilde-St. Margaret's, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Chanhassen's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Chaska, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Chaska was able to grind out a solid win over Chanhassen in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 6-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
