Basketball Recap: Iben Last's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lakewood over D'evelyn + How To Watch

If Lakewood was feeling good fresh off their 64-35 takedown of Sand Creek on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the D'Evelyn Jaguars on Saturday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Lakewood's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Iben Last, who posted eight points. Last is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Caroline Bane, who scored four points and eight boards.

Colleen Monahan had another great game (as she tends to do), almost dropping a double-double with 23 points and nine steals for D'Evelyn. Those nine steals gave Monahan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobbi Jo Marvel, who earned six points along with eight rebounds and four steals.

Lakewood now has a losing record of 2-3. As for D'Evelyn, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Lakewood will take on Fountain-Fort Carson in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. D'Evelyn and Colorado Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars' defense better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 53.8 points per game this season.
