Basketball Recap: Mikayla Perman and Peyten Reese Secure Win for Dayspring Christian Academy

There's no place like home for Dayspring Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 51-39 win over the Kiowa Indians on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Dayspring Christian Academy was led to victory by Peyten Reese and Mikayla Perman. Reese posted 18 points and five steals, while Perman went 6 of 9 on her way to 16 points and eight boards. Those 16 points gave Perman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sophia O?Neill, who earned four points.

Dayspring Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Kiowa lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Karina Vidales, who had 14 points and five rebounds. Deb Flipse was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Dayspring Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.
