Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Artesia). They walked away with a 16-13 win over the Hobbs Eagles on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Artesia pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Hobbs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Artesia has already played their next contest, a 14-0 win against Roswell on the 8th. As for Hobbs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-1 victory against Midland Texas Leadership Charter Academy on the 8th.
