Baseball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Wharton

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wharton walked away with it. They came out on top against the Parrish Community Bulls by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Daniel Duno tossed a big game, tossing 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Justis Meadows was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Brown, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Wharton pushed their record up to 22-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Parrish Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-6.

Wharton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulls: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
