Football Game Preview: Greenwood Eagles vs. Gaffney Indians + How To Watch

The Greenwood Eagles will take on the Gaffney Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Two weeks ago, Greenwood humbled Easley with a 49-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Gaffney had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down Eastside 28-10 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Indians' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Eagles are ranked 116th).

Greenwood better keep an eye on Josiah Hill. He was instrumental in Gaffney's win, rushing for 140 yards and three TDs. Those 140 rushing yards gave Hill a new career-high.

Gaffney was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Gaffney's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Greenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.

Greenwood was taken down by Gaffney 41-6 in their previous matchup back in August of 2019. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Eagles were down 27-6.
