Volleyball Recap: Rockhurst Makes It 12 in a Row on the Road

Rockhurst's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Fort Zumwalt South Bulldogs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hawklets have posted since April 24th.

Rockhurst was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (107-106), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 26-24, 25-22, 20-25, 15-11.

Rockhurst found their leader in freshman Philip Pfeiffer, who had 16 digs and three assists. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Pfeiffer.

Rockhurst's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-5. As for Fort Zumwalt South, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-8-1.

As of now, neither Rockhurst nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
