Softball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss

If Chaparral was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Horizon on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Firebirds fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The Firebirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 6-0.

Kaelyn Moffitt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and one double.

Chaparral's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Horizon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.

Chaparral will welcome Mountain Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Horizon, they will head out to square off against Desert Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something the Huskies surely won't give up without a fight.
