Softball Recap: El Campo Extends Winning Streak to Three

El Campo won the last time they faced Bay City and things went their way on Thursday too. The Ricebirds walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Blackcats. Winning may never get old, but the Ricebirds sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Kamryn Mears was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Mears was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adrienne Rodriguez, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Emma Labay was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

El Campo's record is now 19-6-1. As for Bay City, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-18.

Looking ahead, El Campo will challenge Hallettsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Ricebirds 3.7, the Brahmas 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Bay City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
