Basketball Recap: St. Benedict's Prep Takes a Loss

St. Benedict's Prep lost against Seton Hall Prep back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The St. Benedict's Prep Gray Bees took a 70-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seton Hall Prep Pirates. The Gray Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dylan Guzzardo was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points for Seton Hall Prep. That's the most points Guzzardo has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Ante, who scored 12 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

St. Benedict's Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Seton Hall Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

While St. Benedict's Prep had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
