Canyon had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.2 goals) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Wednesday. They never let the Villa Park Spartans get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Canyon's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Villa Park are ranked 530th).

Tyler Romero and Orlando Ramirez scored both of Canyon's goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 12-1-2. As for Villa Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
