Basketball Game Preview: Tahoka Bulldogs vs. New Deal Lions

Tahoka hasn't had much luck against New Deal recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tahoka Bulldogs will square off against the New Deal Lions at 7:45 p.m.

Last Friday, Tahoka had to suffer through a 75-24 loss at the hands of New Home. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1163rd, while the Leopards are ranked 236th).

Boston Gonzales was Tahoka's leading scorer, having posted six points. Bek Mccleskey held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, New Deal earned a 58-48 victory over Post on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

New Deal is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Tahoka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-14.

Tahoka couldn't quite finish off New Deal when the teams last played on January 3rd and fell 53-51. Can Tahoka avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
