Baseball Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Parlier Panthers

The Chowchilla Tribe will host the Parlier Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Parlier took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Chowchilla, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Chowchilla turned things around against Fresno Christian on Tuesday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory.

The result came thanks to Dillon Watkins's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 15 Ks. Those 15 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Chowchilla's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Isaak Barbosa, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Another was Tristan Beardsley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Parlier lost 23-1 to Liberty on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Chowchilla's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Parlier, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Chowchilla took their win against Parlier in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0. Will Chowchilla repeat their success, or does Parlier has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
