Baseball Recap: Hialeah-Miami Lakes Comes Up Short

If Hialeah-Miami Lakes was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Sheridan Hills Christian last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans fell just short of the Mater Bay Academy Rays by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday. That makes it the first time this season the Trojans have let down their home crowd.

Diego Lopez put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Jose Lopez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-4. As for Mater Bay Academy, they moved to 1-7 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Hialeah-Miami Lakes will square off against Downtown Doral at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
