Baseball Recap: South Tahoe Comes Up Short

South Tahoe and Lowry squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but South Tahoe had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Buckaroos by a score of 11-10. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buckaroos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Angelo Abandondolo was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Stone Chavarri, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for South Tahoe and nudges their season record down to 8-20. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 19-7 North Valleys (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.6% over those games). As for Lowry, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-14.

South Tahoe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lowry, they will take on North Valleys at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Buckaroos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
