Volleyball Recap: Bridges Prep Buccaneers vs. Battery Creek Dolphins
Bridges Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Battery Creek Dolphins. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dolphins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-21, 25-14.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Battery Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaime Maldonado, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Maldonado has posted since back in August of 2024.
Bridges Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Battery Creek, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bridges Prep will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hilton Head Island at 6:00 p.m. on October 1. As for Battery Creek, they will venture away from home to face off against Hanahan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
