University's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 41-8 win over the Granbury Pirates. The Trojans pushed the score to 41-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Pirates cut but never quite recovered from.

A big part of University's victory came down to the chemistry between Savoy Nichols and his top target London Smith. Nichols threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns while Smith gained 85 total yards. What's more, Smith posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August of 2024.

The win got University back to even at 1-1. As for Granbury, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

University didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 48-24 victory against China Spring on the 12th. As for Granbury, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 35-14 defeat against Birdville on the 12th.
