Baseball Recap: Tekamah-Herman Comes Up Short

If Tekamah-Herman was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Benson on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers lost 14-7 to the Mount Michael Benedictine Knights on Tuesday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Cale Belfrage was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Loftis, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Tekamah-Herman dropped their record down to 1-13 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tekamah-Herman will challenge rival Omaha North at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mount Michael Benedictine is set to take on their familiar foe Gross Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
