Preview: Westminster Wolves vs. Hinkley Thunderbirds
Westminster is 1-9 against Hinkley since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Westminster Wolves will head out on the road to square off against the Hinkley Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Westminster is ranked 218th, while Hinkley is ranked 241st).
On Wednesday, Westminster came up short against Denver South and fell 57-44. Westminster has struggled against Denver South recently, as their match on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Hinkley had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Far Northeast W by a score of 63-51 on Wednesday. The win was just what Hinkley needed coming off of a 67-29 loss in their prior match.
Westminster has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which lines up perfectly with their 5-15 record this season. As for Hinkley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-14.
Westminster strolled past Hinkley when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 76-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westminster since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
