Basketball Recap: Wyatt King's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bethune over Briggsdale

Bethune was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Briggsdale Falcons. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 13-7 in the first quarter.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt King, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, King is now averaging an impressive 8.2 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Morris, who posted 15 points.

Bethune's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Briggsdale, their win bumped their record up to 6-15.

Looking ahead, Bethune and Hi-Plains will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. As for Briggsdale, they will square off against Weldon Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Briggsdale is facing Weldon Valley at the right time seeing as Weldon Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
