Basketball Recap: Lakota Tech Tatanka vs. Todd County Falcons

There's no place like home for the Lakota Tech Tatanka, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past Todd County 74-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lakota Tech also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Lakota Tech found their leader in underclassman Riley Casey, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gilbert White Jr., who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Lakota Tech's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6. As for Todd County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakota Tech will take on the Rangers at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Hill City is ranked 44th, while the Tatanka are ranked 54th). As for Todd County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mobridge-Pollock has four straight victories, the Falcons have three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
