Recap: Ben Lomond Scots vs. Union Cougars

The Ben Lomond Scots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell 38-29 to Union. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Ben Lomond of the 47-36 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture on January 11th.
Ben Lomond lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jazzy Tinajero, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Tinajero is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Aniyah Gomez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Ben Lomond dropped their record down to 6-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Union, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ben Lomond will take on the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Ogden is ranked 110th, while the Scots are ranked 112th). Union will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Morgan knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully the Cougars likes a good challenge.
