Baseball Recap: Santa Clara Has No Trouble Against Macdonald

Santa Clara never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the MacDonald Condor as the Santa Clara Bruins made off with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Zach Gallegos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Santa Clara got a massive performance out of Connor Houle, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave Houle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of John Kepner, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Santa Clara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Santa Clara's record is now 6-0. As for MacDonald, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Clara will welcome Woodside at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for MacDonald, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Cupertino at 4:00 p.m.
