Baseball Recap: Shelby County Takes a Loss

Shelby County managed to slip by Briarwood Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats lost 10-2 to the Lions on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since February 14th.

Shelby County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Pennington, who went 2-for-4 with one double.

Shelby County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-11. As for Briarwood Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season.

While Shelby County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
