Two dominant backs in Grant Small and John Whetsell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Williamsburg Academy Stallions will challenge the Dorchester Academy Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Williamsburg Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 29.4 points per game this season.

Williamsburg Academy easily dispatched Lee Academy on October 10th, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Stallions fell just short of Bethesda Academy by a score of 28-26 two weeks ago. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Stallions came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 106th in South Carolina, while the Blazers are ranked 241st in Georgia).

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Small and Jordan Cheever. Cheever had a great game and rushed for 204 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Small was balling out in the loss, rushing for 114 yards and two scores.

Williamsburg Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hall Dukes and Gamble Wilson.

Meanwhile, Dorchester Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Colleton Prep Academy with points to spare, taking the game 28-14.

Having lost for the first time this season, Williamsburg Academy fell to 7-1. As for Dorchester Academy, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

Williamsburg Academy took their victory against Dorchester Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 45-22 score. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Raiders' John Quattlebaum, who threw for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Stallions still be able to contain Quattlebaum? There's only one way to find out.
