Baseball Recap: Mullen Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Mullen's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-0 to the Cherokee Trail Cougars, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Mullen got a good showing from Alexander Andrews, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Andrews has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Mullen's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Cherokee Trail, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-10 record.

While Mullen had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
