Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Falls to Chalmette in First Game of Season

St. Augustine kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chalmette Owls. The defeat continues a trend for the Purple Knights in their matchups with the Owls: they've now lost three in a row.

Mekhi McCollum made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Augustine will head out to square off against Newman at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chalmette, they will head out on the road to face off against Holy Cross at 6:30 p.m. on February 10th.
