Baseball Recap: Bayshore Comes Up Short

Bayshore came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bradenton Christian Panthers, falling 11-1. The Bruins have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Diego Villegas was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in triples.

Bayshore now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Bradenton Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Bayshore will face off against DeSoto County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Bayshore has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Bradenton Christian, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Bradenton Christian Panthers duke it out with Inspiration Academy Red Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
