Basketball Recap: Torrington Trailblazers vs. Bridgeport Bulldogs
Torrington lost against Bridgeport back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Torrington Trailblazers fell 52-39 to the Bridgeport Bulldogs. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Moorehouse, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. What's more, Moorehouse also posted a 33% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Julian Stromski, who had eight points and five boards.
Bridgeport got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hayes Watts out in front who went 9-for-13 to rack up 26 points and three steals. Watts continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Landon Dean was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Torrington's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Bridgeport, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
Torrington has already played their next matchup, a 76-54 defeat against Douglas on the 14th. As for Bridgeport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-31 win against Gordon-Rushville on the 14th.
