Basketball Recap: New Richmond Takes Down Ashland in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and New Richmond had no trouble coming through when it counted. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Ashland Oredockers 76-47. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Oredockers are ranked 408th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory (which was New Richmond's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points over those games. As for Ashland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.

As of now, neither New Richmond nor Ashland have any future games scheduled.
