Recap: Sterlington Panthers vs. Amite Warriors
The Sterlington Panthers entered their tilt with the Amite Warriors with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Sterlington managed a 24-18 victory over Amite on Thursday. For Sterlington, this counts as revenge for the 26-20 loss Amite walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Sterlington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gaven Evans out in front who rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Trammell Colvin and his 113 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Sterlington's victory.
Sterlington's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.3 points per game. As for Amite, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.
Sterlington will head out on the road to face off against Wossman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wossman is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Amite, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Sumner.
