Basketball Game Preview: Rushville Lions vs. Beech Grove Hornets

The Rushville Lions will take on the Beech Grove Hornets in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Rushville will head into Saturday's match out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They were dealt a 65-24 defeat at the hands of Greensburg. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Beech Grove played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Franklin Central 69-33. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 181st, while the Flashes are ranked 34th).

Rushville will have to contain Mylee Boling as she made an impact in Beech Grove's last game. She posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Lyla Muffler-Challis, who earned six points.

Beech Grove's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Rushville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
