Volleyball Recap: Shelbyville Takes a Loss

Shelbyville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Franklin Community Grizzly Cubs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Bears of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-7, 25-11.

Corbin Deck paced Shelbyville's offense, picking up five kills. Deck got some help from Layne Pogue and his five assists.

Shelbyville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Franklin Community, they have been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Shelbyville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Irvington Preparatory Academy on the 2nd. As for Franklin Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Lafayette Jefferson on the 3rd.
