Volleyball Recap: Navarre Takes a Loss

Navarre lost against Gulf Breeze back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Raiders lost 3-0 to the Dolphins.

While Navarre ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-17, 25-17.

Katelyn Weller paced Navarre's offense, picking up five kills. Weller were helped by Isabel Gutierrez and Anna Wagner, who contributed seven assists each. Gutierrez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Rhyan Schorzman, each putting up two.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf Breeze to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bella Ciolino, who had 21 digs and four assists. The dominant performance also gave Ciolino a new career-high in kills (two). Another player making a difference was Allie Hepworth, who had five kills and five digs.

Navarre's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Gulf Breeze, they pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Navarre has already played their next matchup (against Pensacola Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Gulf Breeze, they will welcome Pace at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
