Basketball Recap: South Holt Comes Up Short

If South Holt was riding high fresh off their 54-33 takedown of Albany last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The South Holt Knights took a hard 55-41 fall against the DeKalb Tigers on Wednesday. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 73-20.

South Holt's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for DeKalb, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-17 record.

South Holt didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-44 loss against Maysville on the 29th. As for DeKalb, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the DeKalb Tigers face off against the Mound City Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for DeKalb: they have been struggling with 12 straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Mound City has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
