Football Preview: Troup Tigers vs. West Rusk Raiders
Troup has won six straight games at home (dating back to last season), while West Rusk has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Tigers will host the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Troup will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Brett Wells produced another solid performance rushing for 225 yards and five TDs while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Childress, who threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Troup was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 426 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, West Rusk beat New Diana 28-21 last Friday.
Troup better keep an eye on Judson Dotson. He was instrumental in West Rusk's win, rushing for 85 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 147 yards and one TD. A healthy portion of that aerial production (80 yards to be exact) went to Kameron Brown.

Troup's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for West Rusk, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
