Madison and Owen are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Patriots will challenge the Warhorses at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Owen took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Madison, who comes in off a win.

Madison took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They managed a 27-22 win over Polk County.

Ivan Blankenship was his usual excellent self, rushing for 179 yards and one TD while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 89-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Bartlett, who rushed for 31 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Madison was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Owen's offense. They had to suffer through a 40-0 loss at the hands of Hendersonville. The loss continues a trend for the Warhorses in their meetings with the Bearcats: they've now lost five in a row.

Owen's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Madison, the victory also got them back to even at 4-4.

Madison won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2024, slipping by Owen 34-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
