The Laughlin Cougars will face off against the Beaver Dam Diamondback at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Beaver Dam will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Laughlin extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Cougars never let Indian Springs get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Anthony Brookins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Brookins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played.

In other batting news, Laughlin got a massive performance out of Bobby DeBoard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave DeBoard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Ruiz, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Laughlin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Beaver Dam made easy work of Fredonia on Thursday and carried off a 21-6 win. With that victory, the Diamondback brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Beaver Dam let Wyett Avila and Anthony Hermosillo run wild. Avila went 3-for-4 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs, while Hermosillo went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Beaver Dam is 2-1 when Avila posts three or more RBI, but 2-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Aaron Huerta, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Beaver Dam's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Laughlin, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Laughlin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .638. However, it's not like Beaver Dam struggles in that department as they've averaged .486. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Laughlin's way against Beaver Dam in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, as Laughlin made off with a 19-9 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Diamondback turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
